POPPELS IS NOW SWEDENS LARGEST ORGANIC BREWERY 23/02/2017

BASED IN GOTHENBURG ON THE SWEDISH west coast, Poppels Brewery has grown rapidly since it started four years ago. Today over 120,000 Poppels beers are consumed every month. Now the beers are about to become even better – for both the consumer and the environment. Poppels turns their entire product line organic, becoming the biggest organic brewery in Sweden.
Petter Gunnarson, Sales & Export Director, says:
– We have always aspired to maximise the taste experience from our beer while being as gentle as possible on the environment. Thus going organic is a natural step for us.
Daniel Granath, Brewmaster:
– The quality of our beer is vital to me, of course. I’m proud that we have gotten to the point where we can brew organically without compromising with the taste.
The requirements for the newly acquired European Union organic certificate are high. Among other things, 95 percent of the ingredients have to be produced without pesticide.
